The Path Back
The Path Back is the practical discipleship journey of Saved Life. It takes the biblical message of recovery and helps us begin living it one truth, one surrender, one practice, and one day at a time.
What Is The Path Back?
The Path Back is a 24-week Christ-centered transformation journey built from the message of Saved Life: Recovering the Image of Christ. It is designed to move the truths of the book from the page into the practical life of a disciple.
Saved Life begins with a simple conviction: we are all in recovery from the Fall. Addiction is one expression of brokenness, but it is not the only one. Pride, fear, anger, lust, bitterness, shame, selfishness, control, resentment, dishonesty, isolation, and countless other struggles reveal how deeply sin has affected the human soul.
Jesus Christ came for more than behavior modification. He came to redeem us and restore what sin has broken. Through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, God continues working in the mind, will, emotions, desires, relationships, habits, and character of those who belong to Christ.
Truth
We begin with what God has revealed in Scripture rather than with our feelings, excuses, labels, or self-made solutions.
Transformation
Biblical truth is allowed to confront our thinking, desires, attitudes, habits, relationships, and ways of living.
Practice
Each lesson moves toward concrete obedience. We do not merely learn truth; we begin practicing it in everyday life.
Community
Recovery was never intended to happen in isolation. We learn to walk honestly with God and with other people.
One Message. One Journey. A Daily Way of Life.
These resources are not separate programs competing with one another. Each has a different role in helping move truth into daily transformation.
More Than Twenty-Four Lessons.
The Path Back is intentionally sequential. Each week builds upon what came before it. We begin with Jesus Christ and the biblical story, move into the reality of the Fall and human brokenness, and then walk toward surrender, spiritual formation, healthy community, endurance, purpose, and mission.
The goal is not to race through information. Twenty-four weeks gives us room to slow down, examine our lives honestly, practice what we are learning, walk with others, and allow truth to become part of the way we actually live.
See the Bigger Story
Understand Creation, the Fall, redemption, restoration, identity, salvation, and the biblical meaning of recovery.
Face What Is Broken
Allow Scripture and the Holy Spirit to confront denial, shame, self-deception, destructive patterns, wounds, and areas of self-rule.
Bring It Into the Light
Learn the practices of conviction, confession, cleansing, forgiveness, amends, surrender, obedience, and accountability.
Learn a New Way of Living
Develop rhythms of prayer, Scripture, worship, resisting temptation, obedience, reaching out, and following divine guidance.
Grow Toward Christlikeness
Begin looking beyond external behavior toward the transformation of the soul and the growing character of Jesus Christ.
Help Someone Else Walk
Recovery turns outward. What God teaches and restores in us becomes something we can use to encourage and disciple another person.
Week One Is Available to Everyone.
We want you to experience The Path Back before asking you to create an account. That is why the complete first lesson is available here on the public Saved Life website.
Before we talk about transformation, recovery, spiritual disciplines, or mission, we begin with the foundation: a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything in Saved Life rests on this first step.
Week One includes the complete lesson, biblical foundation, Soul Check, group discussion, weekly practice, seven daily reflections, memory verse, and final charge.
Weeks Two Through Twenty-Four Are Inside the Free Members Area.
After completing Week One, you are invited to create a free Saved Life membership and continue walking The Path Back.
The membership is not designed to place the message behind a financial barrier. Membership is free. It gives us a way to create a growing discipleship environment where people can return to their lessons, access Daily POWER, use additional resources, and continue growing rather than simply visiting a webpage once and disappearing.
Start the Journey
Learn what Saved Life is, access the book, understand The Path Back, and complete Week One without becoming a member.
Continue the Journey
Access Weeks Two through Twenty-Four, Daily POWER, Bible studies, additional discipleship resources, downloads, and future Saved Life materials.
Membership is not merely about gaining access to more content. Saved Life is moving toward a community of people who are learning, practicing, growing, belonging, and helping others do the same.
The Path Back Does Not End When the Lesson Ends.
A weekly lesson can help us understand truth, but transformation happens in the choices of ordinary life. Daily POWER provides a simple rhythm for intentionally walking with Christ between lessons.
POWER is not a scorecard for proving our spirituality. It is a daily reminder to turn toward God, obey what He shows us, worship Him, endure temptation rather than surrendering to it, and refuse to isolate ourselves from the people God has placed around us.
A Measure of the Recovered Life
How do we know whether recovery is actually taking place? We do not believe the deepest measurement is simply how many meetings someone attended, how many lessons they completed, or even how long they have avoided a particular destructive behavior.
Those things can matter. But Jesus taught us to look at fruit. Saved Life is developing A Measure of the Recovered Life as a biblical reflection tool for examining whether the character produced by the Holy Spirit is increasingly becoming visible in the practical life of a disciple.
Recovery Should Produce a Different Kind of Life.
We are not pursuing perfection, nor are we trying to manufacture the Fruit of the Spirit through willpower. Transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit as we behold Christ, surrender ourselves to Him, walk in obedience, and remain responsive to His work.
Over time, biblical recovery should become visible. Pride gives way to humility. Bitterness begins giving way to forgiveness. Hiding gives way to honesty. Isolation gives way to healthy community. Self-rule gives way to surrender. Impulsiveness gives way to self-control. Fear increasingly gives way to faith.
Completing twenty-four lessons is valuable. Becoming increasingly like Jesus Christ is the goal.
The Path Back Was Built to Be Walked With Others.
You can begin The Path Back individually, but Saved Life ultimately points toward Christian community. We need people who know us, pray with us, challenge us, encourage us, celebrate growth with us, and lovingly confront us when we begin drifting back toward old patterns.
Start Where You Are.
You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. The Path Back starts with Jesus Christ and moves one week at a time. Begin with Week One. Be honest. Take the Soul Check seriously. Practice what God shows you. Then keep walking.
When you are ready for Lesson Two, create your free Saved Life membership and continue the journey.
